Service Description
Service Description:At the Orchard Garden Private Day Nursery, our ethos is to provide a safe, stimulating and happy environment where parents feel that they can entrust their children in our care and be assured that they will receive the personal attention they deserve.
By working in partnership we encourage a child’s natural curiosity to develop new skills, giving them the opportunity to reach their full potential.
We provide experiences and opportunities to enable the children to become independent and active learners, which in turn supports their all round development.
Children can attend the nursery from the age of 8 weeks old and stay with us until they leave us for school. The nursery has 6 individual rooms, age ranging from 8 weeks to 4 years 11months.
We also offer Holiday Club for children up until their 12th birthday. Children attending the Holiday Club will be involved in a variety of indoor and outdoor activities and trips.
We are registered to receive the flexible free funding and the extended entitlement and have a range of sessions available for parents accessing affordable childcare, including tax free childcare. The children in the nursery attend a variety of activities involving the local community- these include trips to the shops, bank, post office, swimming, library. They also attend trips further afield so the children experience different modes of transport- bus to parks or train to Matlock Bath or Sea Life centre.
80% of our staff are qualified from a level 3 to Early Years Professional Status, the remaining 20% are currently working towards their level 3 and 4 qualification in childcare. All our staff have successfully completed Paediatric First Aid course.
The nursery provides home cooked, nutritious well balanced meals and the nursery cook bakes and prepares fresh food everyday catering for a variety of cultural needs and dietary requirements. We try to make all mealtimes a happy and social occasion, where the children are fully involved in setting up, serving and cleaning up, children are encouraged to “try just a little bit” and eat the things that they do like, and alternatives are always offered. The nursery menus run on a four week rotation and are displayed each day in the nursery.
Opening hours has gone back to 07.30am -18.15pm
