Service Description

Service Description:
First friends has a small, personal, homely under two’s room (Ladybirds) with separate room for sleep times. Children’s own routine followed flexibly throughout the day.

Free flow setting with sensory room, play based activities to extend learning and development. Ladybirds is based on the first floor in a large, safe and secure environment.

Our two to fives room (Butterflies) is based on the ground floor, and has access to a large outdoor lay area. We work towards the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework in line with the latest government requirements. All meals are prepared using fresh ingredients and are home cooked to ensure that all children receive the majority of their 5-a-day.

We are a Neighbourhood Nursery who work closely with the local community and are partners of the North Chaddesden Children’s Centre based at Cavendish Close Infant School. We are open to all families, whether returning to work, study or for social interaction and can support you in finding funding to help meet your childcare costs.

Please note that we offer a school pick up service to children who are attending local nursery units and need additional childcare hours.

There is a safe and secure enclosed outdoor play area with a small grassed sensory area. All staff have first aid training, health and safety and basic food hygiene.

The nursery has a secure entrance with a key pad coded door lock. The nursery also has a purpose built buggy and car seat storage area.
Closed all bank holidays including Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day.
