Service Description
Service Description:The Kingsmead School is the collective name for a range of provision which incorporates our Special School and our Pupil Referal Unit, providing education and support for Key Stage 3 and 4 young people with soial, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH)
All our young people have SEN, the majority having behavioural, emotional and social difficulties as their primary need and some have associated learning difficulties.
We can offer monitoring and assessment places to Secondary age young people when:
. School can no longer meet the young person's needs
. There has been a significant increase in challenging behaviours
. There are significant changes in the young persons circumstances
We can offer Hospital/medical tuition for young people who meet the criteria for this service.
There are currently seven sites to The Kingsmead School, the main site on Bridge Street and six other sites around Derby.
Monitoring and Assessment Placements identify next appropiate provision.
Junction 16 program developed to offer young people personalised educational programms to match individual needs.
