Service Description: | Landau Forte College Derby was purpose built and opened in 1992 as one of the founding members of the City Technology Colleges Trust which has since grown into the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT). The College became an Academy in September 2006, offering dual specialisms in Technology and Business Enterprise. Our ambition is to provide a world class standard of education through being a dynamic and innovative organisation where education is founded upon clear and common sense principles. Students who join Landau Forte College Derby are starting a journey of learning and discovery which will last for their time at the College and continue throughout their lives.
The College uses the protocols of the Managed Move and Hard to Place processes to support appropriate placements for students within the City. Similarly, the College works with the LA’s Connexions PA to source suitable external placements for Year 11 students into the next phase: Derby College and other FE providers, Lighthouse, and Special Schools. In Years 7-13, the College accesses alternative provision with Kingsmead School, the DPA, Ignite and through it’s own WRAP(Work Related Achievement Programme) in accessing appropriate learning opportunities for our students with Individual Needs.
Landau Forte College Derby is committed to the principle that every student has individual needs and an entitlement to the full curriculum. We believe that every tutor is a tutor of every child/young person including those with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). We are fully inclusive in our provision: Social background Ability Ethnicity Religion Gender Sexuality
We advocate that all students should have access to the best education in order to prepare them for their futures. Therefore we are continually endeavouring to improve the levels of attainment and progress for all students in order for them to achieve their potential.
