Homelessness is about more than rooflessness. It’s not just about physical space, it has a legal and social dimension. A home provides roots, identity, a sense of belonging and it is a place of emotional well-being. Homelessness is about the loss of all of these. It is an isolating and destructive experience and homeless people are some of the most vulnerable and socially excluded people in society.

Visitors to the Homeless Centre are usually homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, in debt or destitute or having to make choices between heating or eating. They are vulnerable and may be isolated or challenged by mental health or substance misuse issues. The Homeless Centre is a place where they can feel safe and secure while they work with our support staff on addressing the issues they are experiencing.

The services we offer are designed to help clients build the skills and capability to address their issues and rebuild their confidence and resilience, to enable their move-on from homelessness and chaotic lives into a better future. Where clients are struggling with debt but are not yet homeless our aim is to prevent homelessness becoming inevitable.

Every person visiting our Homeless Centre will have had a journey unique to them, they will have come from different backgrounds and sectors of society. Our holistic, person centred approach ensures that this is recognised in the plan that supports each individual’s pathway to successful, sustainable move-on.

The services provided at the Centre fall into five specific areas; Access to Services, Advice & Guidance, Activities, Professional Support and Accommodation.

Client Handbooks are available at the Centre listing opening hours, house rules, services and their availability.
