Service Description: | The Pakistan Community Centre was set up, with strong support from Derby City Council, at the beginning of the 1980s to serve Derby's Pakistani Community. Being such a large new facility, at that time, the Centre was very well used by other community groups and was also used for community functions by groups which were not part of the Pakistani community. By the mid 1990's the Centre was established as one of the prominent voluntary organizations in Derby and had started initiatives such as the Elderly Care Project, Advice & Training Centre, Elderly men & women luncheon clubs, sporting activities.
The Centre has been refurbished which includes new cctv system, upgrade of alarm system, improvements to toilets and the reception area, a new gymnasium with changing room facilities & includes a Sauna, a new kitchen, improved meeting room, improved lighting, improved disabled access, re-painting, improvements to our servery, a new stage, external improvements to walls and fences etc.
The refurbishment of the Centre will turn it into a place that will compete both on quality and price with other facilities in Derby and the East Midlands. Hi! I am Mohammed Yaqub Centre Manager.
