| Service Description: | I provide a safe, nurturing and inspiring environment where children can flourish and feel valued. With over 13 years of experience in childcare, I bring a wealth of knowledge, passion and dedication to my setting. I have worked in private day nurseries, mainstream schools, SEND schools and within the charity sector, including as an Assistant Coordinator at Derby-based charity Umbrella, supporting children and adults with additional needs. This diverse experience enables me to confidently support children with a wide range of needs and backgrounds.
I am a Qualified Forest School Leader and have been for 10 years now! I have extensive SEND experience and a current, enhanced DBS. I am paediatric First Aid trained, safeguarding qualified and I''m the Designated Safeguarding Lead at my setting. I follow the EYFS framework and children’s safety, wellbeing and development are always my highest priorities.
Early Years childcare is my passion. I believe children learn best through meaningful play, exploration and hands-on experiences. As a Forest School Leader, I incorporate outdoor learning and nature-based activities into our routine wherever possible. Whether exploring outdoors, engaging in creative activities, building, investigating or imaginative play, children are supported to grow in confidence and independence.
My home has been carefully adapted to create a welcoming and stimulating setting. I have converted my garage into a dedicated playroom designed specifically for childminding, offering a wide range of engaging resources to support learning and development.
We also have a friendly family Labrador, Buddy, who is part of our home environment. All interactions are supervised, and safety is always prioritised.
I place great importance on building strong, supportive relationships with families. Open communication, trust and partnership working are central to my setting. I understand how important it is for parents to feel confident and reassured when leaving their child in someone else’s care. When children are in my care, they are not just looked after; they are nurtured, supported and encouraged to reach their full potential.
If you are looking for experienced, knowledgeable care within a nurturing home environment, with strong SEND understanding, outdoor learning opportunities and a child-led, play-based approach, I would be delighted to hear from you. |
