| Service Description: | Our Bridge independence programme is designed for young adults who have finished their education and want to focus on progressing into independent or supported living. Young adults live in our accommodation and access community and College facilities and activities. We encourage and support students to do things they’ve previously had others do for them, enabling them to be more in charge of their life.
The overarching goal is to move participants closer to supported living. Outcomes from the Bridge Programme could include:
- Knowledge and experience of budgeting based on their realistic personal budget and individual circumstances.
- Increased understanding of health and wellbeing; being able to plan and live healthily including cooking, shopping, meal planning and healthy activities.
- Weekly planning and scheduling and involvement within the local community.
- Being able to manage a home and oneself; paying bills, cleaning, washing, personal cleanliness and upkeep, enhanced communication and personal awareness. |
