Service Description:
Juniper aims to provide a high quality Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance (CEIAG) service that ensures all students have access to inspirational competent staff and quality resources, in order to help, assist and support individuals to make informed choices about their training needs, personal development, wellbeing, career development and progression opportunities.

Mint works for those young people that know what they want to do next, and equally well for those that need some help making up their mind. These are some of the areas of work that our young people have moved in to over the last 12 months: Accounts, Administration, Animal Care, Childcare, Carpentry, Catering, Construction, Customer Service, Dentistry, Electrical Engineering, Hair & Beauty, Horticulture, IT, Leisure, Media, Motor Vehicle, Retail, Sport Coaching, Transport, Warehouse and Youth Work.

Juniper’s Mint course includes:
•BTEC Extended Certificate in Workskills
•GCSEs and Functional Skills in English and Maths
•The skills for the world of work, including CV building, interview techniques, communication and confidence
•Enterprise Projects
•Work Experience in the occupational area of interest with real employers
•Our Progression Promise – which is our commitment to you and your progression route following the Mint course

Juniper’s Mint course is ideal for students that are:
•Aged 16 – 18, or aged 16-24 and have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
•Wanting to gain additional skills and qualifications to prepare them for the next step
•Unsure of what career choice to make, or are clear on the career they want but need support in accessing it
•Looking to gain skills for the world of work, including work experience with real employers in the occupational sector of interest, CV building and interview techniques
•Interested in taking advantage of our relationships with local employers
