School Admission Application

Apply here if:


* Your child is starting school for the first time in September 2025; or


* Your child is in year 2 at an infant school and will be transferring to a junior school in September 2025; or


* Your child is starting secondary school for the first time in September 2025; and


* You live in Derby city (you pay your Council Tax to Derby City Council)


If you pay your Council Tax to Derbyshire County Council or any other Council, please contact them for information on how to apply. Please note we do not forward applications made to us in error to your home authority.

1st November 2024 until 15 January 2025 
Apply online using the parent portal
National Deadline for application 15 January 2025All applications received after this date will be considered 'late' and will be processed after all on time applications
National Offer Day: 16 April 2025 or the closest next working day Login into your account to view your school offer.

Secondary Transfer
1st September 2024 until 31 October 2024Apply online using the parent portal

Are you moving or recently moved house?

Proof of address may be needed when you submit your child's application for transfer to secondary school or to start reception school.

If your child has been attending nursery or school in Derby, we will probably have an address on record for your child, and proof may not be needed.

Proof of address is likely to be required (but not exclusively) if you have moved in the last 12 months.
